Finding our way forward.

We went out to Bully Ranch today to clear a few areas and get a better sense of where to start. We decided the first big step will be clearing the 4½-acre front pasture. After that, we plan to clear all of Lot 40.

I made it to the back of the property today, and it is so beautiful. I found what feels like the perfect spot for our house on Lot 41. Now we need to figure out a practical way to reach it without climbing over fallen trees and pushing through prickly shrubs.

Once the first areas are cleared, we hope to see a good route for a driveway to the back. I want to keep as many of the healthy trees as we can. There are also many dead trees that will need to come down after we choose the driveway’s path. I’m looking forward to planting more trees native to this area as we shape the ranch with care.

Each visit makes the vision a little clearer. There is a lot of work ahead, but seeing that beautiful spot on Lot 41 made the future feel closer.
